About Swift
The SWIFT Wind Turbine is a structure or pole-mountable wind turbine that generates electricity by harnessing the power of the wind. With unique, patented technologies the SWIFT provides unprecedented safe, efficient, and near silent operation.
A partnership with the original designers of SWIFT, the UK-based company Renewable Devices, has allowed Grand Rapids, Michigan's own Cascade Engineering, Inc. to become the proud manufacturer and marketer of the SWIFT Wind Turbine for North America.
The team of engineers behind SWIFT has a passion about providing safe, clean energy for everyone. With installations worldwide, this design icon has been quietly generating clean energy for homeowners, community groups, and commercial customers, for over four years. The emphasis of the SWIFT design has been focused on safety, reliability, and ease of operation, alongside the high-performance of this innovative system. Unique technologies led to the filing of five international patents, which allow the SWIFT Wind Turbine to offer:
- Quiet, minimal vibration structure-mounted operation
- Simple installation
- Safe, efficient, and autonomous operation
- Visually appealing design
- Sustainable, harm neutral design - allowing SWIFT to become carbon and energy positive within four years
- Zoning - operates below maximum noise levels and eliminates the pole fall height restrictions
A structure-mounted SWIFT turbine is mounted on an aluminum mast with a minimum blade-roof clearance of approximately two feet. It is optimally mounted at the highest point of a roof, in a position which benefits from maximum prevailing wind, but it will work effectively in almost any location. SWIFT is designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and quiet.
To ensure minimal transmission of oscillations from turbine to building, the SWIFT Wind Turbine mounting brackets incorporate a damping system, specifically designed to absorb a wide range of frequencies. The patented ring diffuser, connecting the blades, minimizes turbine noise by preventing the creation of turbulent vortices at the blade tip. In addition, the five-bladed design allows for a slower speed of rotation to further reduce noise, making the SWIFT Wind Turbine one of the quietest wind systems. Now you can have clean, quiet energy generated right from your rooftop.
Cascade Engineering, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, manufactures all SWIFT rotors worldwide and performs assembly for all turbines sold in the United States and Canada.
